Terms of Service
Customer terms for all Makeinfo software
Last updated: July 31, 2026
1. Scope of These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the software published by Makeinfo ("we", "us", or "our"). This includes our Google Workspace add-ons, our Chrome extensions, our Atlassian Forge apps, our web applications, and the free tools published on this website (together, the "Software").
Some products publish their own product-specific terms. Where they do, those terms govern that product and these Terms apply to everything they do not address. Product-specific terms currently exist for GTM Playbooks for Jira, TwilioBox, and the Smart Email Verifier Add-on.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By installing, accessing, or using the Software, you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software. If you accept these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to that organization.
3. Grant of License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use the Software for your own internal business or personal purposes, for as long as your right to use it remains in effect.
This license does not permit you to:
- Sublicense, sell, resell, rent, lease, or otherwise commercialize access to the Software.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except where that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices contained in the Software.
- Use the Software to build a competing product.
4. Accounts and Third-Party Platforms
Most of our Software runs inside a third-party platform — Google Workspace, the Chrome Web Store, or an Atlassian cloud site — and some products additionally require you to connect your own third-party account or API credentials.
- Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms, not by ours.
- You are responsible for keeping your accounts, credentials, and API keys secure.
- You are responsible for all charges billed to any third-party account you connect.
- Platform availability, data residency, and account administration are controlled by the platform provider, not by us.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Software only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Use the Software in violation of any applicable law or regulation, including data protection, anti-spam, and communications laws.
- Upload, process, or transmit content you do not have the right to use.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage quotas, license checks, or access controls.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Software, or the platforms it runs on.
- Use the Software to send unsolicited communications or to harass any person.
6. Fees and Billing
Some products are free, some are paid, and some offer both. Where a product is sold through a third-party marketplace — such as the Atlassian Marketplace or Google Workspace Marketplace — that marketplace is the merchant of record. It handles pricing, billing, evaluation periods, taxes, and refunds under its own terms, and we do not process those payments.
Where we bill you directly, fees are due in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law or where we state otherwise in writing. We may change our prices, and we will give notice before a change affects an existing subscription.
If a paid subscription lapses, your access to paid functionality ends. Unless a product's own terms say otherwise, lapsing does not delete data you have already created.
7. Your Data
You retain ownership of the data you process with the Software. What each product accesses, stores, and transmits differs by product, and is described in that product's privacy policy and in our general Privacy Policy. Several of our products store data entirely inside your own platform account and never transmit it to us.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to process the data you put into the Software, including any personal data, and for meeting your own obligations under applicable data protection law.
8. Intellectual Property
The Software, its source code, design, documentation, and the Makeinfo name and marks remain our property or that of our licensors. These Terms grant you a license to use the Software; they do not transfer any ownership. Any feedback you send us may be used without restriction or obligation to you.
9. Service Availability
We provide the Software on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Software may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, third-party platform outages, or circumstances beyond our control. We may modify, add, or remove features over time.
10. No Warranty
The Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements, or that any results it produces will be accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Makeinfo and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Software, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability for any claims arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Makeinfo harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense arising out of your use of the Software in breach of these Terms or in violation of applicable law, or arising out of data you processed with the Software without the right to do so.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling revokes the permissions you granted to it. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — will survive.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using and uninstall the Software.
15. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction. If you have a dispute, please contact us first at [email protected] — we will make every reasonable effort to resolve it amicably.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any product-specific terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Makeinfo with respect to the Software, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings, whether written or oral. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
